Abbie Chamberlain
(She/Her), LLMSW
Navigating childhood, adolescence, and adulthood are each uniquely challenging in their own ways; but you and your child do not have to face it alone.
Abbie specializes in working with children and teens to provide support in mental health stabilization, tools for personal exploration, coping through intense emotions and more. Drawing on both Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) approaches, she helps clients build effective communication skills and coping strategies to thrive despite life’s curve balls. Along with these strategies, Abbie provides Exposure Response PreventionTherapy (ERP) to help clients both with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder/OCD Diagnosis and those wishing to minimize anxiety around certain Trauma or PTSD Responses. Abbie also has experiences in working through body image struggles and disordered eating habits with Clients, whether there is an Eating Disorder diagnoses or lack of.
As a graduate of the University of Michigan’s School of Social Work, Abbie brings experience from both youth-focused settings and the Residential Treatment setting for women in recovery from drugs & alcohol. Inspired in part by growing up with a sibling with an Autism Spectrum Diagnosis (ASD) and multiple loved ones in recovery from a variety of addictions, her work is fueled by a lifelong passion to help young people both flourish & learn healthy communication styles long-term. Abbie also has experience working alongside those with Eating Disorder diagnoses of Anorexia, Bulimia, Binge Eating, and AFRID (Avoidant Restrictive Food Intake Disorder).
The journey to healing is never perfect or linear, and Abbie would love to walk alongside you in your journey to holistic healing. Reach out to Abbie directly with any questions or comments.
